I made an "impulse purchase" off the net from a respectable dealer of a Pat Crawford folding knife. Needless to say, I practically broke the bank on it, and am wondering if his work was worth it? Never mind, I like the knife or I would not have purchased it, but I am curious of the professional collector's opinion on this maker.

Any comments on this knife artist would be most appreciated. Obvious complements to Mr. Crawford for making that beautiful folder I bought.

Barnaby,

Did you buy the knife to use or as an investment?

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

Pat Crawford's knives are definitly worth the money. Fit and finish are second to none, and the knives are....DAMN TOUGH! DAMN SHARP! DAMN GREAT! so..................quite whining about it and BE PROUD TO BE AN OWNER OF A CRAWFORD KNIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YOU CAN TRUST YOUR LIFE WITH IT!

Wait! Barnaby!
You’re selling those little, tricky Delta Z knives for nearly $200 a pop and you say you nearly broke the bank to buy a handmade Crawford?

Hmmm.

I guess perspective is everything.

I recently bought a used "standard" KFF, great knife but the blade was scraping the liner a bit so I contacted Pat Crawford to see about having the knife fixed. Pat promptly answered my e-mails (unlike some people) and graciously offered to fix my "new" knife for a very, very modest fee (basically return s&h). He has it now and I can't wait till I get it back. First Class all the way! Next knife will probably be a "dressed-up" KFF. My only regret is I did'nt buy this knife from him new!

Hoss, believe me Crawford's customer service is second to none. I have a Crawford Rocket that had seen lots of use and the bead-blast finish was worn in many places. I gave the knife to Pat at the blade show and he sent it back looking 100% and as sharp as the day I got it. He also included one of his newer style sheaths and a small Tuff Cloth. He is a first rate individual!!
