Unfortunately, my favorite pawn shop was purchased by a company in Kentucky and is no longer the place to go for nice good scores. That is really harshing my mellow.

The key to pawn shop deals is to frequent them on a regular basis. For some reason 119's and 110's are always priced the same as you can buy them new, but some times when they dont recognize the model they price them for less.

The other key is wait and keep your eye on a particular knife. The longer it's there, the better chance they'll come down on the price. That's how I got the Alpha Hunter I carry, they had 40.00 on it but it was still there after 4 months and I got him down to 20.00 on it. Now I didn't flnch at giving the 70.00 he wanted for the 124 he had, but you're not going to find them every day.

All my local pawn shops told me the same thing:
We don't even display them. "They go right on the bay "

I was a in pretty big pawn & gun store last week. They had used 110s & 119 for more than the Gander Mtn just down the street.

That's the way it works around here, too.

You really need to be fortunate enough to be blessed with some local pawn shops with owners who are not too bright and sort of stuck somewhere in the 1980s.

I Love living here in Coeur d Alene, ID We have GREAT pawn SHOP's

Rich,
I told the guy at our favorite pawn shop that if I am buying it, his price is too low! :)
He gives my son great deals on vintage video games though so thats the trade off.

Thats hard to imagine considering how long we were there. :) I'm done looking at the knives after 5 minutes and my son spends another 45 minutes looking at the games.

Rich & Joe, which shop are you guys talking about? Help hook a brother up! BTW, Rich, can you sign my copy of your book sometime?

I would be happy to sign one of my books for you.
Matter of Fact there is going to be a review of it in the Next issue of Tactical Knives Magazine. The Jan 2012 edition out in a few months..

Getting back to buisness the Pawn shop is JSM Pawn on 4th Street in Coeur D' Alene.Plus they have a Taco Truck in front with the BEST taco's up here in Idaho

He carries a good bunch of Bucks in his display and a few on the wall that might not be for sale but are nice to look at.
The tacos are pretty good by the way!

Rich, those are insanely good deals on those knives! That Vantage Force Avid is half the price I paid.
