they could've got their dates straight.

The handle seems smallish, but what do I know?

Looks well crafted and all the parts are there. Not too worn, either. Glad it's not my $300...(I would rather have a Berk Special for that price) ;)

Thanks for the link, Bill.

Berk has a better file of my stuff than I do!

The two knives on the left are Indian versions of the kukri on the far right which is English made around 1880 for the Sirmoor Rifles (which became the 2nd GR) and their original home of Nahan. It is quite a rare and unique piece and Bill tagged it correctly as the best of the lot. It is made with mechanical tolerances that can stand up to any finely machined piece.

As you can see the kukri on the far left has a "peacock head" for part of the cho design, but not the nice engraving. Both the Indian pieces come in velvet covered scabbards and are rare in their own right. I know Artzi Yavrom has one on permanent collection and the one on eBay would be great if it had the chape.

Fortunately I was able to save some pics John had sent me as emails which I had stored on my PhotoPoint:barf: account. Unfortunately, I lost all the accompanying text to a virus attack that cleared my hard drive like Sherman going through Georgia.
