Hey guys. I was looking at the cases made by pelican. I heard a lot about them and wondered if they were all they were cracked up to be. Not only do i toss my bag around a lot which has my phone I-pod etc. in it but im also near the water a lot so there's some moisture around. I know they give the sizes for them, but im not to good with sizes so say if i wanted to put my phone I-pod keys and wallet what size would i want. I'd be tossing the case in a small bag so it can't be a crazy big. thanks for the help in advance.

Pelican cases are great. Tough, waterproof but you pay for that in weight and bulk. I'm afraid I can't help with the size though/

i guess ill take a trip to ems or sports authority next week for a size comparison- thanks kamkazmoto for the response

They are definately worth the money. They provide all around protection and come in about any size you'd need.

i use a smaller one for my PSP and the case feels like it's indestructible!

Def worth the small investment to protect your gear!

The 1020 sounds about right, but I'm not sure about the length of the Ipod.
I use the 1020 for my digital camera+spare batteries or a dump box for EDC stuff like wallet, keys, etc. at work(edit: I should mention that I use a Dopp front pocket wallet, and my full-size wallet does not fit as the 1020 is too narrow). A 1060 houses either a SF M3 with extras using the foam insert, or a couple of chargers for my Li-ion batteries when traveling or taking them to work.
About to order a 1200 for a pair of binos+accessories that should fit in the main compartment of my Maxpedition Pygmy Falcon with about 8" to spare(hopefully enough room for both of my other Pelican cases plus a mini shaving kit), and have just the right amount of room for a pair of Vortex Razors, tripod/monopod mount, Burris ultra-compact tripod, and a Vortex doubler.
Pelican cases are quality products. The two that I've been toting around for 2 and 6 years respectively are like new except for a few scratches. Good luck.

We use 'em at work to hold laptops, satellite phones, and other electronics, on tug boats & barges. They keep your stuff dry, even if they take a swim. Really sturdy, too, and handy with the modular foam inserts.
I don't know what to tell you about sizes, though...

with the stuff you need space for I would look at the 1050. It will be large enough to hold all of your stuff plus you will have a little extra room.

I have a briefcase sized one, I can't remember the model, and it's been great. Get one a little bigger than you think you'll need.

I've hauled sensitive gear down whitewater rivers in AK with them and they stood up well. Liked them enough to use them for regular gear too. However, that was when the baggage weight limit was 70 lbs per piece. With the present limit of 50 lbs, I don't use them unless I really need to protect something. The larger cases can weigh 20+ lbs and that eats up a lot of your weight allotment or puts you in to the excess weight charges.
