Here's a 17 inch 25 ounce BGRS by Sher. Made for big hands. Sher has not forgotten how to make a khukuri. Fit, finish, hardness all just about perfect. Good karda and chakma. Same old perfect scabbard in new leather by village sarkie.

Great rig for 25% off regular. Take home price is $112.50.

Sher fans will love this one -- especially if you have big mitts. This one has a handle that is not made for ladies or kids.

Call or email.

I knew it wouldn't last. It was beautiful. What is it you say on the HI site, " like leaves on a tree...' every one different, special.

I must thank my luck to take my first PGA. It's a BGRS, one of the best chopper even among HI khukuri lineups, it's Sher made equivlent of toughness, and it' a PGA! How could anybody resist.

I was so hurried up writing e-mail to Uncle. I'm not through HI forum's thread titles yet....

Last but not least, thank you, Uncle Bill!

Awesome knife, Uncle. Glad to see Sher's work again. Sher makes knives tough and hefty enough for Yetis :D

I think Pala has rationed Sher's steel supply. Shipping costs drive pala crazy and Sher was one who did not spare the steel.

I was wondering about that. Many of the blades are coming to us lighter than spec in the homesight. Is this so?

It just arrived today. Contrary to Uncle Bill's post and my expectation, it was a normal khukuri. Was it really made by Sher, or was it a BAS of other PGA? was my first thought. When holding it, there was a second shock. It was the lightest for its size, among my khukuris. I quickly ran to the PC, opened HI forum, and compared pix of BGRS by Sher, by Bura, and the khukuri in my hand. It was Sher's. The mark is rising sun, it's Sher's.

Okay, I'll forget my presumption, and see what I got as it is. as raghorn's keen eyes saw, the handle was just like a UBE's. A large handle that lightens the weight balance to the best point with no visible counterweight, but somehow. It feels as heavy as my 18" Gelbu Special when held statically. But once I start to swing thme, the BGRS felt as half weight as GS. I'd thought a GS was best fit for user / fighting combination, but it's BGRS for me now. So light in my hand but the mass is still there. Wide blade width makes the blade rather a deeeeep slasher than a chopper. And the handle is... not for those who has big gloves but an ordinary sized hands like mine. (4" across the palm at the bottom of fingers, from pinky to index finger)

The chakma and the karda were longer than usual size for the khukuri but the same as the handle. Chakma's butt end is hollowed and you can easily tell which is which by seeing the handles.

Thank you, Uncle! It's a NICE blade. Though it was not I expected, but it's what I wanted. Now I know Sher is favored by many people not because he makes beefy khukuris, but he makes good khukuris!

Oh I forgot to say it arrived here in only four days. The quickest shipping I've experienced. In such short time, the BGRS flew over the Pacific Ocean and notoriously strict customs.
Thanks again, Uncle Bill.

Sher looks a hefty fellow himself from the pic in the Khukuri FAQ. Some of their maker's spirit must really work its way into the blades the kamis make.

Interesting observation. Sher is short and husky and made his knives that way. His younger brother, Kumar, was tall and lanky and "invented" the Kobra and other slim liners.

These two guys used to fight all the time. I hope they have settled at least some of their differences.
