Here's a very well done 25 inch two pound Sirupati that rates about 9.95/10. The mark is Kesar's old mark and Sher's current mark. I'm not sure which guy made this but if it wasn't marked at all I'd probably guess Sher not because it's overweight but just the way the work looks to me and the way the blade is hardened -- about 60 Rc 80 percent of the length. Quick in the handle for a 25 incher and will do some serious work or damage.

Decent karda and chakma. Old style scabbard which is okay and tooled but lightly so.

Take it home for $125. Bargain time.

Call or email.

"Falling in love again,
Never wanted to;
What am I to do?
I can't help it."

- Marlene Dietrich

Bill, you have mail.

I love that song and Marlene, too. Did you see her in Golden Earrings? One of my favorites.

No email yet -- slow delivery from the UK maybe -- but if you want this knife, Tom, you have dibs. I think it's one you'll enjoy. There're "ripples" along the entire length which tell the tale of forging a knife this length that only one who has been there can appreciate fully. It's got a lot of character.

Try the email again to firm it up. I'm not sure I can find a shipping address for you. I think you have enough on deposit to pay for this but you better double check this, too.

I think you'll appreciate this one. You'll see file marks where the file was able to bite the edge -- from cho foward about 6 inches. The file hit the rest of the length of the edge but couldn't bite it.

I think a big plus for this knife is the small handle for this size knife -- only six inches from top of bolster to buttcap. I was surprised at how well it handled for a 25 incher.

Congrats on the new Blade Tom:D! Hope it can live up to the Kobra:) Actually from the sound of it, I'm sure it will. Let us know how she handles.

It'll have one heck of an act to follow, Rob; but we'll see.

I'd be very interested to learn who actually did make it. If it was Sher, I haven't tried any of his work yet. Since I'm possibly his brother's greatest fan, it'd be great to compare the two.

I like the sound of that small handle.Maybe even small enough that I can get my little girly hands right round it...

Tom,being a Sirupati fan from the first time I found the website,I'm looking forward to reading your review of this big brother to my 18 incher by Sher.Enjoy.

Tom is a smith who can write. His reviews are among the best -- and honest. He tells it like it is and tells it well. If this knife falls apart he'll tell you how and why.
