Same story with two 15 inch, about 1.25 pound AKs by Sanu. These are very near perfect rigs. Grain lines in handles of both. Not even enough for a super glue fix yet and these lines will probably never develop into cracks -- but you never know and the lines keep both of these from going into the perfect category.

I've never seen a grain line blem before Uncle Bill, does it happen very often?

We got 40 khukuris in yesterday -- 4 had grainlines. These are not really cracks but a pronounced line in the horn -- you've probably seen wood with grain lines. Horn grows and forms in much the same manner and develops these lines. I'm not sure what causes them. Maybe the buff was growing the horn too fast, not getting proper diet, working too hard, got in a fight. Perhaps the experts can tell us more about this.
