I know John has asked this to be placed in WSS, I haven't had enough dirt time to add this thread there and I worry about how many reviews have been moved so here goes...
Received this knife a while back and love it. I designed it with a boxier handle initially, when John sent the pic of his cutout, I realized it needed some sexier curves. I'm delighted at the result. I have sharpened it and sanded the handle to remove any edges (I like a round, smooth handle). Bloodwood, O-1, 1/8" thick, with a 4.5" blade and handle, it is about the perfect size for a mid-level knife.
I contacted Noah of Wasteland Leather to make a sheath. I wanted something similar to Bear Grylls horizontal sheath. I like the way it lays on the belt and the choices of vertical carry as well as horizontal. I can remove the straps if desired as they are held by chicago screws. One change I would make is to replace the screws with studs for removal off belt without undoing the belt itself.
I have used this knife more in the kitchen (it's never far from me, to be honest---my ewok is PISSED!).
Here are a few pics with the handle little kit I have put together based out of a Maxpedition janus pouch. My thanks to John and Noah for helping me design my first knife and a great sheath and being such excellent gentlemen to deal with-both are very communicative and reasonable in cost. I have sent 2 other knives to Noah for sheaths and I own more of John's knives than any other maker! That should say a lot.
I will be adding to this thread as I use this knife more. Thanks!
