Ive recently inherited a Pic Pro Hunter.. No Pic and Puma were somehow interconnected correct? The sheath has a Puma stamp on it.. Can someone point me to a resource to try to date this guy? Thanks..

PIC (Precice Imports Company) copied Puma, I believe that Schlieper made the knives for them. The correct sheath wouls be a copy of the Puma sheath with PIC's insignia of a mountain with a pickaxe.. Puma is an entirely separate company, your sheath is a replacement.

Thanks.. The knife was a user from my great grandfather.. Do you have an Idea about when the year of manufacture was? The blade is etched with "Sportsman Line" "PRO HUNTER" "Surgical Steel" "3 972" (There are one or two numbers before the 3, but have been ground away) "Solingen Germany" and the PIC insignia. Its got a 2pc natural handle (appears to be antler) 3 rather crude looking rivets and a lanyard hole.. Thanks..

the term surgical steel means it was probably made in 70s or 80s.
