I know it’s a little early to be talking about Easter, but I’ve been wanting both an Easter knife and a Barlow for a while. When this knife presented itself, I thought I’d go ahead and pick it up. I haven’t been able to find any others, so I’m glad I did. Anyway, this is probably the nicest Case knife that I’ve purchased, in terms of fit and finish. The blades snap open and closed with the sound of a SAK, they are centered pretty decently, springs seem to fit flush, and the scales/bolster are done very nicely. I’m also very impressed with the Barlow pattern. It seems that when I was a kid, that this was the pattern that everyone seemed to have…that is except me, as I don’t ever remember having a Barlow. This pattern is a very nice size. Big enough to handle most of my knife tasks, and small enough to handle most of my knife tasks. I expected it to be thicker, and in fact it’s relatively thin. Also, I like the blade geometry very much. This may be my new favorite pattern, and EDC knife. Sorry about all of the pictures, but I was excited and wanted to show it off. The pictures below do not do the knife justice. Paid $34.99 + $7 shipping.

Hi Doug S -

Nice knife~!

Thanks for posting them.

best regards -

Cant go wrong with the Barlow, even old non-knife nuts remember the barlow name... My dad being one of those years ago gave me my grandads pocket knives didnt know a darn thing about any of them, 'cept an old utica barlow. Handed 'em to me and said this one (the utica) is called a barlow. :)
All those years he remembered that:thumbup:
Sorry for the sidetrack there
You also take some nice photos, nothing to apologize about there
What kinda bone is that? And is this one gonna get any pocket time? Be a shame if it didnt!
Thanks for sharing

I appreciate the comments on the knife, and on the pictures. As I mentioned, I think Case did an excellent job on this Barlow. So much so, that I'm looking for another Case Barlow (regular). I can't find any info about the scales, but I believe they are a white bone. The dark that you see in the pictures, I believe is some of the black material from that pouch that gets into the bone. I do plan to give it pocket time. It fact I've been carrying it for the last week or so. I keep it in it's suede pouch to keep it from gettiing too banged up with the other junk in my pocket.

I have never been into theme or Holiday knives, but I like that one. I also can think of 5 people at least that I would like to send that one to. Thanks for that. Are they gonna do another this Easter?

Beautiful knife and message on that knife. It looks like a great size as well.

It does seem to be a good quality knife, and a nice pocketable size. I also like the message. I will carry it over the Easter holiday. Although I never thought I'd get into holiday knives, it is kind of fun to carry a Christmas Trapper or Easter Barlow during those times. The problem with the Barlow is that I like it so much I don't want to wait until the holiday to carry it. I've been looking at a Case Caramel Barn Board Barlow that may help with this situation, though.:o

Are they gonna do another this Easter?

I don't know about 2010, but here is a link for the 2009 version.
