OK, I have seen many requests for pictures of the new Spydercos that will be released in 2002. I thought I would start this thread and hope that people will post the pics they have of the Ocelot, Meerkat, Salsa, Jester, Fred Perrin, Temperance, Lil Temperance, Impala, ATR and anything else you have seen.

Thanks.

Well, I must return to work. If I find more pics to post I will add them, thanks to everyone here and at the Spyderco Forums who posted the pics.

If you have anything to add please do so.

Gawd, just love that Lum, it's #1 on my Spyderco list, then the Salsa.
Thanks for doing all that work for us Johnclarke.

Here's a pic I took of my own Temperance Jrs:

the temperance that you posted seems to have a rolling lock on it, is this true? i heard that spyderco tried to licence it from REKAT but it fell through, should i expect the temperance to have a compression lock? Anyone know the blade size? Right now it is compeating with the axis AFCK in my mind. thanks for finding the pics

Thanks for the pics, dudes! It's nice to have them all in one place.

The image of the Fred Perrin fixed blade has gotten stuck in my head lately. It didn't look like much when I first saw it, but the more I think about it, the more appealing it becomes.

About the rolling lock Temperance - that's actually an old "Martial" prototype. It sort of started the idea of Martial Blade Craft knives for Spyderco, but it never got made because the deal with REKAT did indeed fall through.

It's too bad that the Martial was never put into production, as I personally really like the design. You could probably argue that the Chinook is similar enough to the Martial that it fills the role it would have held though. The Temperance seems to be a highly evolved version of the Martial, but it's much different.

Thinkofthechildren, thanks for the great pics of your two new Temperance Jr's, they are the best pics I have seen anywhere so far.

That Temperance with the rolling lock I dont know much about, you can click on the link that I included from the original post at spydercos forum which is where I got the pictures from. A rolling lock Spyderco would have been quite interesting, but I agree that it appears to be a early MBC proto.

It was my pleasure to pull together these pictures, I am still looking for more and also better ones. I hope to see somone take pictures at the NY knife show and either post them or send them to me and I will gladly post them.

Thanks for the compliment! I'm just starting to get the hang of my digital camera.

Here's a big tip that I just learned (I know that it's probably self evident to any half-decent photographer but I'm just learning this stuff):
If you want to shoot your knives, GET A TRIPOD. Using a flash is no good since it will reflect and create nasty uneven lighting. Without the flash, though, you have to set your shutter speed to a slow setting to gather enough light for the picture. If you try this without a tripod your hand will shake and blur the picture. I set up my camera on the tripod, set the shutter to really slow, then I put it on a time delay photo. This way the picture won't even be shaken from me hitting the shutter release. I just hit the button and stand back: voila!

Thanks for posting all of them...boy that Lum additon is majorly cool!!!
