Thought you might like to see these awesome pictures sent by a friend.

They were taken with a home made trail camera above Blue Creek, east of Walla Walla, Washington

Nice!

In the 1970's, a friend of mine once built his own trail camera, back before everything went digital. Before anyone sold such a creature. He used a film camera of course, and a large battery pack for the flash, since it had to on all the time; used an ultrasonic emitter and receiver to trigger it, and taped the whole thing up with plastic sheeting to protect it. He'd come back every three or four days, and take the film in to be developed.

It was it little more involved than picking up one at Cabela's and hanging it on a nail like you kids can do today! :)

Now get off my lawn! :D

WOW! Someone got a pic of Cougar Allen!

Nice!

I assume that these shots were cropped from larger originals?

I'd like to know more about the camera set up...

Great shots, sure is a healthy looking cat, Thanks for posting.

Glad you liked them. :)

I thought them absolutely beautiful... It was wonderful to see the cat in his natural state on beingness with nothing alarming him....Just minding his business.....

....and the pictures are so sharp...

I suggested that they were cropped from larger pics because it seems that the camera's position is different in some of them. It appears that the camera moved but obviously, no one was there to reposition it (look at the little pine behind the cat... it's center frame in a couple pics and to the side in others).

Regardless, they are great shots!

ABSOLUTELY PURE SWEETNESS on those pics! Magnificent looking animal (we don't have cats that big in this part of the world).

Are you already travelling cross country with the daughter? Take care and have fun!
