I not only browse the shopping site, studying types and weights of the different styles of blades, I also go back in time to reread posts about the Khukuri's I've bought on specials and see the pictures all over again.....I look at the pictures of MY khuks and see what Uncle Bill wrote, all over again...

Am I the only one to do this?

I keep a copy of the PGAs and blems that I've purchased. :D The old stuff is still good for info and stuff that you may have forgotten.

Hey, I thought of something reading this; knives are more personal than firearms, aren't they? The choice of a knife shows something about its owner. I would rather shoot an attacker than stab him. Let the bullet do the cutting. If I have to, I want the experience to be as decisive and short lived as possible.

A knife or sword would be a much more personal way to dispatch an enemy. Close in. Face to face. Mano a mano.

The power of the knife comes from the owner's arm.

Of course if you want to be efficient just remember Bill Paxton's line in "Aliens"

"Let's just take off and nuke 'em from orbit!"

I haven't been around the forum for a while, so a few days ago, I went back and looked up the old posts about my purchases. :)

Just to be anal, that was actually Sigourney Weaver's line. I can't post Paxton's line agreeing with the idea, since he used a bad word. Great movie!

I stand corrected on the Bill Paxton line. I believe his response had the phrase "***ken-ay" in it.

I also liked his nasal: "You're dog meat, Pal!"

Good movie, needed a few HI Khuks in it though, maybe a Janawar or something else that was really long.

I can see the title now: Aliens vs. Gorkhas.

Having seen some of the Victoria Cross citations earned by the Gorkhas down the wars, I would not bet on the Aliens...
