Hi Guys, I just reveceived a brand new Paramilitary. In looking over the knife I something that looks a little unusual. The screws on the handle are the normal torqx screws but the piviot screw dosen't like like it has a screw head at all. It looks like a washer on top then fingers that go down into the washer. It is the same on both sides. It doesn't look like I could tighten or loosen the pivot screw. Could anybody please enlighten me. Am I just seening things? Thanks

I think you have the same Para as me.

It doesn't look like it, but the pivot is adjustable.

Just try a (good fitting) Torx no. 10.

My para is the same Torx #10

I just talked to the production manager at Spyderco and found out that the first 1000 Paramilitary's were made with a 3/32 allen head screw on the pivot and then they changed to a #8 torqx. Mine is the 3/32. The production manager said he would be happy change it over to the #8 torqx. He said the reason they changed to the torqx was because people were stripping out the screw with the allen head. So I am not seeing things .

Nice info Rickacp,my Para is one of the first 1000 then. The allen screw doesn't bother me, I do have a fitting allen key but I stil have to get me some torx keys. How people get to mess up the allen screws is a bit beyond my understanding. It doesn't need to be turned that tight at all. In fact I had to keep mine very loose to have a smooth action. To prevent it from running loose over time I installed an M3 locking ring. Works fine now.

doesnt spyderco put the number put on the blades for which number they are like a serial number for the first so many?
