Just to add a slight coprrection to that -- the Tracker knife was co-designed by my friend, Steve Lee, who was Tom Brown's chief instructor for two-and-a-half years starting back in 1979.

Best,

Brian.

Those are some very cool blades. That fighter/bowie looks like a great survival blade. What do you think of the Tracker knife? I almost got one a few years back, but the unconventional shape was hard to gave me second thoughts.

The Tracker is an excellant blade. It chops and scrapes well with the forward portion of the blade. The rear portion works well for more delicate work. The saw teeth are highly functional and work as advertised. (they are patterned after the SAK saw) The hole in the center is supposed to be an arrow wrench but I've never used it for that purpose. The handle is one of the best knife handles I've ever used. It is extremely comfortable and secure. When you grip it behind the finger swell you can get very powerful chops with it. When you choke up on the handle and place the finger swell between the index and middle fingers you can get a good bit of control for fine, detailed work. It's not ideal for skinning squirrels and other small game but it will work. (the small companion knife fills that niche quite well) The blade is very rugged and holds up well to abuse. Mine is ATS34 so it has good corrosion resistance while holding a pretty good edge. I think all of the current Trackers are made from D2. The sheith is well made and woeks wel for either vertical or horizontal carry. All in all it is a superior blade. Don't let the odd shape put you off.

Mike
