Place the ball detent before or after anodizing?

I recently bought a mini anodizer from reactive metals and it works awesome! The colors are spectacular. I am planning on anodizing my liners using it. In the past I have used a torch but this way I will get specific, uniform colors. Should I anodize the liners and then place the detent ball or can I do it before? I think that since the anodizer uses stainless as a cathide it might eat the ball?
Thanks in advance for your answers,
Chuck

Anodize then place the ball is the best. Or you can coat the ball with nail polish to protect it. but if you get nail polish on the ti it won't anodize there either.

I use a small drop of nail polish. I let it dry good before anodizing and wipe off with acetone after. I anodize last to avoid possible scratches on the liners from installing the bearing and doing my final tuning. Glad to hear that your anodizer works well.

I haven't bothered to protect the detent at all and haven't noticed any degradation. It's only in there for a few seconds anyway.

I havent bothered to protect the ball either. I use diet coke instead of TSP or the real solution Reactive Metals sell. What are you using?
