Plans for vertical belt grinders?

Recently, I've seen pictures of some homebuilt vertical belt grinders. Do any of you have plans you would share on how you built your homemade vertical grinders? I'm specifically looking for a 2x72 2-wheel setup with a simple tension spring using common everyday type of items. I'm not ready to spend 150$ on a rubber coated contact wheel yet, I just want a vertical sander with a platen and a tool rest. I'm thinking of something out of wood and angle iron since I have some old bed frame peices that look like they might work. I don't know how the washing machine motor I have would hook up to the wheel, what sort of attachment and wheels have you home-builders used?
Thanks,

There used to be others. The Aardvark Grinder plans used to be on the net, but most URLs are dead.

Also, there was a forumite name Robert Fink (or Frink, I believe) who had a page and sold cast aluminum disks.

Popular Mechanics had a series of encyclopedias in the 1950s that illustrated a 2x48. Here's a picture:

Perhaps others have some?

Wayne Goddard's book The Wonder of Knifemaking, shows several ways to make a grinder.
