I feel like a child. I completely emptied my 4-tier knife drawer cabinet out all over my desk and just PLAYED!:D

I in the middle of this "project" that is really more of an excuse to play than anything important. I've lined them all up and I'm fiddeling with all of them one at a time; oiling and opening and closing and just generally playing with my collection.

I'm arranging my drawers from low-end knives (CRKT, Sog Autoclips) on the bottom and working my up to my highest-end (Microtechs, BM) on the top.

But mostly I just felt like taking them all out, servicing some of them with a little BreakFree, and playing with each one a bit.

It reminds me of when I was a kid and I used to do this with my Star Wars figures.:D :D

Do any of you ever do this or am I just regressing?:o

Heck, I still do that with my Star Wars figures! ;)

Okay, actually, they're mostly "Big Trouble in Little China" figures, but it's the thought that counts.

You're never too old to have a happy childhood.

No.

I don't have enough time to keep my khuks and swords sharp. ( Maybe if I quit pretending they were Excalibur and I was Arthur Pendragon... )

I will lay out all my knives about once a month and go through oiling and playing with them. I oil and touch up the edges on my EDC Rotation about once a week. I was bored tonight and took apart a majority of my EDC rotation and did a detailed cleaning.

So, it sounds like you do this as a matter of business or neccessity or maybe it's an anal knife-care thing you've got going.

But really, TheBadGuy, are you doing it out of sheer friviliousness and JOY like I am?

I don't think so. It sounds like it's a much more serious methodical routine to you.

For me it's just knife-collector's joy! Weeeeee.:D

 I am not even going to dignify that with a response, besides, I am too busy polishing all my boots and shoes. Only 14 minutes to finish within my alloted time frame :D

Playing is serious thing..:)
Really, I always spend an day after buing a new knife just playing with it. As a result i get used to it's balance and "felling". Maybe if you have many EDC, it is good idea to "review" them, just to keep hand fit.
