Please make the cf calypso jr or the paramilitary in ZDP-189

I really want to try this new super steel & I think spyderco would do it justice.

I don't know if true or not, but, I read in the January 2005 Blade magazine on page 104, that the steel (ZDP-189) has 4 times the cutting performance of D2.
Right now, William Henry is the first production knife to use it on the Tom Brown Quest.

They are planning to do an FRN Calypso Jr and a Delica in ZDP-189.

Edit:

I'll head off the cavalry charge by adding that this is still only in talks. They are not on the production schedule yet, AFAIK, and there is no delivery date set.

Of course a big show of support here on the forum might help to get things going. ;)

I would buy another Calypso Jr., maybe two (so I can beat the crap out of one) for the opportunity to try out the new steel.

Thank you, thank you,thank you,thank you !!!!!!
I will buy at least 2 of each- even prepaid if nessesary

I'll buy a Calypso Jr. with the new steel. That is if the price point doesn't double. Wait a second, who am I kidding?

The January BLADE mag, huh, got to read up on this steel. Are there any other articles on it?

I wish you would make the calypso in polished micarta, If I am going to pay 2-3 times the price, I would want a nicer handle material to show for it.

I will still buy the frn, if that's all there is to choose from, but how about the calypso in micarta & the delica in frn?

The calypso is only popular with the knifenuts, we would be more willing to pay more than the unwashed masses who would go with the delica.

please don't push it. Sal will put it into production when he finds out the right way to heat-treat the steel and the right price point.
I actually doubt whether there will be such a delica. As delica is a flagship product marketed for everyday inexpensive knife.

Sal, I will buy one also. My preference would be for micarta handle material, like the originals. $130 retail would seem like a good price point if this could be done. Since, I'm listing my prefs, I would rather a wire clip for deep carry like your UK and Meerkat. I would concur with the previous poster that the market for this knife is the knife nut who is more apt to appreciate and spend more than the general population.

Carbon Fiber Calypso, Jr. would be great.
Please consider this project.

Thanks for a great product.
