I was refered to you by another memeber due to your great work with pocket clips for folders. I was looking to see if you could make one for my Buck 110 folder.

Jack can you help me?. :D

Thanks. Yeah. Sure. But its all in what you want to spend. Lots to cover for a newbie but its worthwhile for others too and will give me a link to refer to later when asked. I've put countless pocket clips and thumb studs on that model for people as well as many others. You have the choice of picking a clip of your own and a thumb stud and mailing that with the folder, or I can make a custom clip and mount a thumb stud on it from my stock. Either way it still will require a carbide drill to be able to drill the hole through a Bos heat treated anything.

Seriously those carbides are expensive and I pass on the cost of it to the customer so I'm not eating drill costs. That is one of the most expensive parts of the entire project. My low rider style clips have always been $30 if I make one out of titanium for you. I can anodize it a color to match the brass better if you like and even make it look a lot like the brass in color. I'll have to drill holes in your brass handle too and then thread those. Once done I can mount whatever you want there of course. Then the thumb stud is cheap. I think I can put a $2 stud on there just fine. But with shipping you are looking at probably $45 to $50 when all is said and done. Thats of course if I make the clip. I'll still have to buy a drill bit to make the hole the right size. It has to be the right one for the screw and the thumb stud I use requires a #44 drill bit for the best fit. You can save the cost of that by picking a clip from a supplier and send that but you will still have to buy the clip somewhere. Knifekits, and some other suppliers sell them. I really don't know what that will cost after shipping.

You can get a stud from them too but some of those have shoulders which would mean two drill bits. Since the only thing that is going to put a scratch on that folder is a carbide you want to stay away from those studs with shoulders. That would mean I'd still have to drill a #48 or a #44 depending on the screw used in the stud you get plus I'd have to measure to find the diameter of the shoulder that counterinks in the blade and then drill a shallow hole for that to fit and of the proper size. Most are 1/8 or 5/32 but again its added cost to buy the drill bit and a larger bit like that won't be cheap.

Your best bet cost wise on a knife that inexpensive is to buy a cheap clip from somewhere and if you pick it I'll stick it. Then you are only looking at about $35 shipped home by letting me use one of my studs and adding in the cost of a carbide. The #44 two flute drills from MSC that I use are $15.20 plus shipping so thats the biggest part of the cost. Those smaller diameter bits are quite fragile so I often times break them even the first time I use one or at least chip it. They still usually work a while but I've had little luck sharpening a dulled one that small with my drill doctor.

Thanks for asking. Again you have a work order form in the low rider clip thread to look up and fill out to print and ship with the folder and anything else I'll need like studs or clip or whatever. If you decide to proceed just let me know and or fill out and print and then mail at your convenience.

STR has put pocket clips on three 110s and a 560 for me, along with thumbstuds. They all work perfectly.
