YOW!! I had one of the older models which I let a friend talk me into selling him. In class last Tuesday night one of the guys handed me the new model he had just gotten. It was like handling a totally different knife!! It has just moved up to #2 on my buy list, right behind the Sifu.

But, as with everything else, when something new arrives something else has to go. Right now I've been carrying a Civilian and a Military, I can see the Hobbit replacing the Military. However, my Military is fully serrated. Whattodowhattodo?

WAIT! I've got it!My neighbor Wayne Goddard told me he's set up to serrate blades now! Can you imagine it, a serrated edge Hobbit?!

OOH! OOH! Wait a minute, another bright idea! A standard Hobbit and a SERRATED SIFU!! THE MIND BOGGLES!!

Boy I must really be excited, I've never used this many capitols and exclamation marks.

Official Disclaimer: Yes, I'm sure that serrating the edges would void any manufacturer's warranty. Oh Well.

i kni hardly wait! the PH is next after my wife's B-day (i hope). how is the draw? does it still have the beakaway kydex sheath? so far i haven't seen the PH & sheath together. sounds like it'd be pretty fast, tho.

Yeah, it still has that same little kydex carry rig. My friend was demonstrating it to me and said that it's really kind of touchy. About every fifth attempt it binds up and retards the motion. The only thing I could figure was that he was probably getting the knife slightly twisted as he was attempting to remove it. But once it was open and in my hand, wow!!

I know that it was designed for reverse grip, but I never did like the reverse grip draw technique it required. I eventually put a clip on the back end and carried it tip up standard grip.

I believe that the next one I get, I will rig up a pocket carry which allows for a reverse grip draw.

REKAT is still making them - we've got a bunch. As for serrations, heck, isn't the back of the knife already serrated?

Spark- Yeah, but those serrations are for trapping, not slicing. Actually, I believe I will have my Sifu serrated after I get it, rather than the next Hobbit I buy.
