I've been attempting axe making lately. I've made a few but this is my first time working with round stock. This is the result.

great looking work,if you ever have one up for sale, just asking, great job.

This one is actually going to a raffle. A young man I know is going for his Eagle Scout badge and is having a fundraiser to raise the money to build his project. I made this and am going to set up an axe throwing booth.
He's going to raffle this off or have a silent auction for the axe.

As for selling some, not sure if I can advertise on this forum since I'm not a gold member. I'll have to find that out. The other thing is, this is made frome A36 steel, which is a mild carbon steel. Basicly solid Iron. Don't get me wrong, it's a strong axe, just not high carbon.

good luck on the raffle"bet it does well",sometimes i spat off at the mouth before i know better about the rules, sorry if i overstepped my bounds, just your hawks have that mohawk look too me i like,i think is what i would call it.good luck.

No worries, I do the same thing. I'm not on this forum enough to know the rules, even though I've been a memeber for a while now. I shoot you a PM.

To everyone else, thanks for the compliments, they're very much 'ppreciated!

Nice work. I like long narrow heads very much. Did you use 1 inch round stock? What is the oal and the length and width of the head?
BTW, you do have to upgrade to at least gold to do business on here. I really have to upgrade myself.

Regards

Robin

Yeah, I thought that was the case.

As for the measurements, I forgot to take them before I let it go into the raffle box. But roughly, overall is about 7", poll is about an inch, the spine is close to about 4 1/2" with a cutting about 2 1/2"- 2 3/4", something like that.

I'm really a fan of that collar on it, compact and well rounded. Any ideas what kind of designs you may try in the future?

It'll take some time, but Viking bearded. True Viking bearded.

@ every one else; thanks for compliments, much appreciated.
