I cant seem to post a couple of pictures on the Buck forum. Is there any place where I can get the exact proceedure on how to?
thanks
guy

OK Guy, if your picture is on your desktop, in a .jpeg or .gif, all you have to do is;

When posting, hit the BROWSE Button and find you pic on your desktop, select it. That's it.

Thanks Phil, after we got the pics to the desk top and the .jpeg in correctly, the file is over the 102k limit. But at least we know the proceedure. Thanks again
guy

Win, you need to click on the picture to make it full size and then copy and paste the address from the full size image between the IMG brackets to make it show here.

What you had post was to the web site of FotoTime for the slide show, you could use URL instead to make the hyperlink to there;

I put the * infront so it won't make the link but so you can see how it's done and then below is the hyper link with the * taken out.

[*url=http://www.fototime.com/ftweb/bin/ft.dll/detailfs?userid={8012E0D2-C758-4030-9867-768BBDEC87DE}&ndx=8&slideshow=0&AlbumId={DA97FBFD-BE0F-45D0-88F0-049CA72672A8}&GroupId=&screenheight=600]See these Knives[/url]

A question along these very lines:
Okay, I can post, but what happens when, like GuyG, I get the message the pic is too big... is there a simple way to shrink the pics?

Thanks!

Joe, resizing a picture is pretty simple in any photo editing program. I used Adobe Photo Deluxe for years, now I use Photoshop. I'm pretty sure most scanners come with an editing program.

Hi Joe,
Like PhilL says, most photo editors will allow you to do what's called a RESIZE of the image. One of the problems is you may have an image that fits the pixel size but I've found if it's too Wide an image it won't allow it to upload either so I try to keep them to no more than 5" or 6" wide.

Thanks for the words guys... but it's sort of a convoluted story here... I'm kinda like a Neo-Luddite: I don't have a home phone or internet connection, no scanner and no TV... I've got a Nikon CoolPix 2500 which I had to go out and buy a new computer to operate as my old one was a law firm reject and wouldn't support the Nikon software.

Well, after finding out yesterday that I still can't post my pics 'cause they're too large, I posted here. I then went home and tried to resize my pics, but when I transfered them to diskette to bring to work to post, they showed up as .pst files... which I don't think work unless you have the right software to open...

Any clues besides going out and buying more software? I admit, trying to figure out a software package for me is an uphill struggle, and I will go back tonite and see if there are any other tricks in the manual... but any hints here would be greatly appreciated!

I've never even heard of a .pst file; that must be one of the more obscure pic formats (there are a lot of them). Save it as a .jpg. Look at the options in your pic editor's save menu; .jpg must be there. If you can tell us what pic editing program you're using someone who's familiar with it might be able to tell you step-by-step how to save as a .jpg, but even without that it shouldn't be hard to figure out.

I'll try the 'save as' and see if I can save it as a .jpeg.
I'm using Nikon View software, but it might have the ability to save it as you've mentioned... I'll give it a go - I want to post pics of Nick Wheeler and his winnings! And I'm just dying to share!!! :D

Joe I offered Guy I may as well offer you. Send me one and let's see what I can do with it.

I sorta got it... of the three I brought in today... this was the only one that was small enough still... Any idea what the ___ x ___ pixels I need to get below in order to post? (can't find the icon for scratching one's head!?) LOL!!!
