I am not great at photography, but there are a few things that I will recommend none the less. You need a better background and the positioning of the two pieces needs some adjustment to make it more eye catching. You also need to work on the lighting a bit as the shadow takes away detail from the gun.

I hope you take these critiques in the manner they were intended. I in no way want to insult you. It is just that I have seen your photographs in the past and know that you can do much better. With practice I am sure you will.

Keith, Im not insulted, thats the kind of honest advise I am looking for. I had a terrible time with lighting for some reason. I took about 20 shots, and unfortunately that was the best of the bunch.

I just scrounged up a few old issues of American Handgunner to study Ichiro Nagatas pics to try and learn from, and going to play with lighting set ups.

Well, that first one went over real well :P

Ok, here is another. I concentrated on basic lighting and figured I will work on composition after I get the basics.

This one is much better. The background makes the knives stand out and the picture is much more interesting from a positional point of view. You catch on quickly.

I don't know about the second one.... he made the knife look SO much different!

:D
