Did a search and it looks like the model 619 came about around 1986/87. Anyone know when Buck officially ended production? TIA

I think your correct on the first production date. The ending... They did appear in the 1989 catalog but I could not find my 1990 catalog . I think they were gone by then for sure by 1991 as they didn't last long. Can someone with that years catalog help? DM

I just went through the catalogs from 1985 on and found the following. The last year that Buck showed the 619 was in the 1996 catalog. The 1997 catalog doesn't show it but it's still listed in the price list for that year ($58). It's gone from both in 1998.

This is the page from the 1986 catalog when it was introduced.

This is the last time it was shown in the catalog in 1996.

Thank you. With a 1993 date code I would expect the steel to be 420HC, correct?

If the fixed blades changed at the same time as the 110/112's that should be correct. I'm not sure if that's the case, but I'll bet that one of our fixed blade collectors would know.

True. IIRC Haebbie collects the 619 series so perhaps he'll weigh in. Thanks again to Dave and yourself for the info you provided.

Yes, I would say the steel switch was across the production line. DM

Yes, David, I think that they changed the steel too. The official date was in 1992, but it is possible that they had
an overrun with pre producted 425m blades for the 619. So it may be, Badhammer, that your 1993 knife still has a
425m blade - wo knows?

Best,
Haebbie

I did some digging and think I found some things to add on the 619. It does show in the 1997 Price List as discontinued. 1997 is the year we did not really have a full blown dealer catalog. We did have a "whats new for 1997" catalog and obviously the 619 was not shown in there.
Most likely a 619 made in 93 will have 420hc but it is also possible that is has 425mod. It all depends on how much 119/619 sized 425mod we had when the change was made.
