Production SWICK vs. Concept SWICK

Okee dokee, I just received my production SWICK from New Graham today (first time from them, and everything I've read on the Bladeforums is true...GREAT SERVICE!!!). Anywho, my initial comparisons to my concept SWICK: blade seems slightly thinner (which is fine by me), index-finger hole is slightly larger (also totally fine), and the sheath is fantastic (leaves it up to the individual to decide on how they want to carry it)! After just seeing the produ Swick, I still think it will handle everything the concept model did ( <http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=336172&page=4&pp=20 >...you might have to read through a bunch of sh*t, but you'll get to the meat and potatoes of my testing). I'll let ya'll know as I use it. Either way, I believe now, more than ever, that the SWICK is the best neck knife/fixed EDC to hit the market...Ever!

Okay, I compared the concept blade with the production, and they're almost identical (except the tip of the produ seems a bit thinner than the concept, and the index hole is a tad bigger). Maybe that's why it felt so 'right' to me. Either way, the SWICK is still my fave necker/fixed EDC so far. Trust me (being a true blade user since childhood...I'm 32 now...old to me, at least), I CANNOT RECOMMEND THE SWICK ENOUGH!!!!!! If you ever listen to anything I say, listen now; you won't regret it.

Thank you for that review, I bought one of these last night on a whim, and since it's not the type of knife I typically buy, I was having some second thoughts.

Your review helped. Thanks much.

Spyderco designed the sheath to be TekLok compatible; however, I have never used that system, so I can't give you details. Sorry. I will, more than likely carry the SWICK in the same manners I carried the SPOT; either as a neck knife or laced up and carried sideways on my belt. The SWICK sheath is ideal for the latter type of carry, as it has many lashing holes. SMCFALLS13-fear not, you'll love it! I will say it again, the SWICK is the best easily carried fixed EDC I have layed my hands on! I LOVE THIS KNIFE!!!!!!!

My must have Swick is en route from New Graham...sadly it is being transported by an overweight teenager suffering from ADD toting a Sony PSP and pulling a three wheeled wagon through the snow.

As is mine. Isn't the wait so much fun?

The Swick really is a gem. The sheath is also very nice for a production sheath. Spyderco out did themselves on this model.

I too am awaiting a pair to hit these shores. This looks to be my ideal work knife simply for the retention aspect. I am MOST excited!

Ok, I'm convinced I need one, as part of my transition to small fb edcs continues. Ya'll just don't "hog" them all

Thanks
Desmond

Will they release it with micarta slabs as with the SPOT? If they do, I will own one.

This run of the Swick is a test run to see if there is enough interest to warrant another run. The Spot had a micarta version so it makes sense for the Swick to have one if the model is popular enough.

If we buy enough, it's a possibility.

Still waiting on mine:o I really wish I had off all the time like the Post Service seems to be.

I STILL have not received mine yet(USPS has off AGAIN)

But photos that I've seen show the word SWICK across the blade, and the standard Spyderco CPM S30V on it as well. Other side probably says Golden, Colorado, USA, Earth

Someone who already has one may be able to answer more definitively than I.

You are absolutely correct in your assumption, SMCFALLS13. The stuff on the blade is exactly as you predicted. If writing on the blade would dissuade anyone from buying this knife, I must ask why. I have not seen a production knife that doesn't have it. Regardless, I've been carrying my produ SWICK for a few days now, and it hasn't let me down! It is every bit as awesome as my concept blade!

Ok, all this talk is making me impatient for mine to get here:o

I'm gonna end up buying a second before the first even gets here.;)

I am actually trying to dissuade myself from buying this knife, by coming up with reasons why it doesn't appeal to me...If it had said "1 of 500," I might be disinclined to use it, so I would be less likely to buy it...Because it has basic markings, it appeals to me more.
