A couple of us are building Propane-fired forges from plans on a site. Everything is good except we can't seem to locate a source for a regulator and a guage that reads maybe from 0 to 10 or 20 pounds.

Any suggestions, guys?

Will post some pics when we finishe the forges and get to try them out.

If you have a propane dealer in your area, give them a try. We have many such places here in Montana. Usually it's the outfits that do home delivery of propane.
An adjustable regulator will run around $30, available in three different ranges (0-10, 10-20, and 20-30) The same folks will usually carry the gauges.

Get a propane and air regulator like plumbers use for pipework. You can get one that will fit a propane tank.
About $30 I think. mine works well. I have a 2 inch burner with a blower.Mostly run it at 5 lbs of pressure.

I got my 0-20 psi regulator from Centaur Forge, they have an online catalog and it cost around $30.00. I got my pressure gauge, ceramic wool, ITC-100 and a few other odds and ends, such as a 1/4" shut off valve to install at the burner from Jay Hayes. He is a great guy and was very patient with my questions and he has very good prices. His email is xmas4lites@earthlink.net, and I can't recomend him highly enough, send him an email and he will send you a products list with prices. -Guy Thomas

An acetylene regulator from a welding unit will work fine too. Sometimes they can be found at yard sales for a couple of bucks.
