Ok, this is probaly a dumb question and a dumb thing to do, but here it is: is there a way to convert Protech Godson into manual opening knife? I really like the looks of the knife and the shape of the blade. Unfortunately, NYC frowns upon automatic knives... Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

remove the spring!!
right, except if i do that the won't be a way to open it. It appears that when the blade is closed fis into the handle to deeply and I don't think you can place openig studs on it...

Hypothetically, if you removed the spring and then the blade was free to move from the open to closed position with a flick of the wrist once you depressed the button, you'd have a gravity knife and that would put you in the same position as if you were carrying an auto as far as the cops in NYC are concerned.
My advise would be to consider another knife because the Protech probably isn't worth carrying if it's not an auto.
