I know this has been out for awhile. Thinking about picking one up since I already have the ar lower. It's hard to believe a tight grouping at 100 yards. Anyone have one?

I was telling a close buddy that I was interested in buying a cross bow and he suggested this set up.
Curious to hear what owners have to say.

I don't own a crossbow yet but I have my sights set on a Excalibur vortex lite stuff package. I rather get a recurve than a compound crossbow

i'v got a Excalibur exomax and it kicks ass. i havent pushed it passed 60 yards yet and i'v had it for a couple years now. i'll have to give er a go when the snow melts.

i wouldn't even look at a compound crossbow, but thats just me.

From reading that & what I've been doing I agree, I wouldn't bother with anything but a recurve crossbow. I'm really looking at purchasing an Excalibur vortex. I was looking at the equinox at 1st put they just made it legal to hunt with crossbows in the state of NY this coming fall season & they want the draw weight on your crossbow to be at 200lbs the equinox is 225lbs

I think this makes sense for me, since I already have a spare ar15 lower, and my state has made them legal for hunting. I have a compound bow already so that doesn't worry me to much on design. It will be interesting to see peoples looks when I bring it onto our local 100 yard range.

I think the msrp on it is 2 or 3 times that of any other crossbow. If it were not for that, it would be a good idea.

I think it's way overpriced for what it is. Lots of good crossbows out there for less.

This.. Buy a dedicated crossbow... Combining a crossbow with a AR lower is interesting but it is long and probably a lot heavier than a normal crossbow...

Well then...................... by all means get it & let us know what your thoughts on it is overall. If you didn't have a recurve I would try to drill it in your head to get 1 ;)

Well since you have a AR lower I'd be interested in what you think if you get one... To me it seems too long and might be too heavy for me... I'm willing to be proven wrong though...
