Pukini - what news?

Good question; I was about to post the same thing myself. I'm starting to REALLY look forward to receiving this knife. Did you get the carbon fiber or G-10?

Curious, too. Got one preordered from 1sks. I got the G-10 (all the CF's were already taken, but I kinda wanted G-10, anyway).

-Please let them ship with a decent edge on them. I got a Hobbit Fang when I preordered the Pikuni, and my lawnmower blades came with better edges. I finally got it shaving, but it took forever.

Looks like the Pikuni is right on schedule, Bob and Christina thinks they will be shipping in the next 8 to 10 days. We had a couple day delay due to the fact that I was hunting and the production ground blade waited in my shop for my approval.

The blade by the way looks great! It has one of the best production grinds I have ever seen. Very nice radiusing at the top and the grind runs true and even the whole length. I did a hardness test and it ran 59Rc, just right for this steel. REKAT is doing a great job on this project!

Excellent news!

I'm very excited about this project too. My Pikuni wall paper gets me every time I open my computer, and I can't wait to get my hands on a 3D version

Also very interested in the carbon fibre handle, as I've never held one (except on a Klotzli folder which isn't comparable). The D2 too... and the sheath... roll on delivery day!

The Pukini is a new fixed blade knife from REKAT. It was designed by Rob Simonich, and will be produced with REKAT's new D-2 enhanced blade steel.
 
Um, question.. is it "pukini" or "pikuni"? For some reason, i was thinking it was pikuni.

Either way... can't wait.

1SKS will have the first batch tomorrow.
Apparently they have been taiking orders since August. I didn't get my order in until October, so don't know if they will get to me on the first batch. First come, first serve. Hoping, hoping.
 
Don't know about you Owen, but every day that goes by with me Pikuni-less (or without news) is harder to bear. Probably got something to do with the fact of my having had a Gurkha House WWIII Khukuri on order for over a year which has been sent to me and been due "any day now" for far too many days.

Impatient, moi? Hell yes!!!
