I've been searching around on the net without much luck for pure nickel foil for damascus. Does anyone know some sources for it? Thanks -Guy Thomas

The Koval Knives catalog shows "200 nickle", 99.5% nickle, .030 thick...

Well that's a duh for me, I have their catalog right here and didn't even think to look in it. Thanks Running Dog. -Guy Thomas

???And I thought damascus was expensive because of the time you put into making it! If I just wanted enough for a few blades I might pay Koval's price. Does anyone know a cheaper source of larger quantities of alloy 200?

Silent, email this gent, he's on the knifelist and has some nickel foil for sale.

Take care!! Michael

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!

Are you sure that you want nickel? If you want the bright contrast in your damascus, you might want to try L6 or 15N20. It'll be less $$. Plus it is hardenable, while nickel is not. My 2 cents, if you want it.

Actually I did want to try some 1084 or 1095 with 15N20 or L6. I do have access to some L6 bandsaw blades. I was looking for some of the nickel just for a bright accent and I wanted to experiment some. Thanks everyone! -Guy Thomas
