Hello all. I currently have an old Emerson/Benchmade CQC7.

I don't carry this knife any longer. I don't really care for the serrated blade and it is a bit banged up. My question is could the blade be swapped out with a conventional V ground spearpoint from a CQC7A? Or a waved version of tanto point blade? The handle dimensions seem the same. If this could be done it would renew my interest in this knife. A new blade would make this knife like new again.

I have sent Emerson an email about this, but ill also try here.

i dont think it would line up properly. the bm versions are a little wider and have different cuts.

and its CQC7 not qcq.

as in 'close quarters combat'.

Doh...I know that. Its just a typo. Damn beer.

hah!!! i blame half my life on bud light!

i havent taken apart my bm cqc, but compared a blade from an emerson model, and they didnt line up the same.

at a show i asked ernie about replacing the spacer on a bm model, and he said he wouldnt work on one. and benchmade probably doenst have parts anymore, the bm cqc's are about 10 years old.

Thanks for the info Morimotom. Oh well, guess ill just have to enjoy the knife for what it is. Below is a typical pic of me while posting.
