Quantified Failure lock tests? Does anyone do it?

Spyderco, but I think they will only tell results of their own locks...

Spyderco does testing, I remember a fairly recent posting that Sal mentions about this in the Spyderco forum here. I don't remember if they charge a fee or not...

Spyderco do it for all their knives, they even do it for a certain number in each batch.
On the Spyderco forum Sal can sometimes give information on the lock stregnth of a certain model, but they don't like to make a big thing out of it, even when the results are quite impressive like those found on the compression locks.

They do provide a testing service for custom makers (for a quite small fee I believe). The only condition is that you do not use Spyderco's results for advertising purposes.

Yup, Spyderco does it. They will only tell the results of their locks though and not that of other companies. If you are a custom maker you can pay a small fee and a contract to not say the results, they are for you alone.

OFF TOPIC: Yea those lock test results for MBC rated locks are amazing. MBC rated locks can take 200 pounds of vertical pressure per inch of blade. So basically it would take 750 pounds of vertical pressure before you could break the lock on a Chinook!
