Just the other day I got a Queen canoe, Cozy Glen with a cool acorn sheild. I opened both blades and noticed a swedge on them both but it's only on the blade side opposite the nail nick. Pretty interesting. When I ordered the knife I didn't notice the swedges so it was a surprise. Makes me do a double take on the blades when I look at them. I like it. This is my first Queen canoe so, is this common on all Queen canoes or is it a Cozy Glen thing? I can post some pics of it tomorrow if anyone is interested.

Queen does nice things with their swedges.

It refines the point of different blades and makes holding the knife more comfortable

Swedges are put on multi bladers, sometimes,to help the blades pass each other without rubbing,so sometimes, the swedge on one side,is different than the other.Yes,Queen does do swedges like this & its "old timey",classy &cool.

Yes, and on the baby sunfish too! I really hope those Cozy Glens will keep going as I'm dieing to try one!

Glock, both the Queen D2 models and the SFO Cozy Glen run have the same swedge on the master spear-point blade. The Only difference is the thickness of the blade, the Cozy Glen's is thinner. This makes for a superb slicer that is in an overall slimmer/sleeker knife than the Queen D2s. I have both and definitely prefer the SFO version. I love D2 but the 1095 that Queen used is excellent and the patina sets up great. Great choice:thumbup::D

Great link, thanks Kerry.

I have the worm grooved version. Same thing. Swedges are great. The blades will turn a nice blue after a while.

My Amber Bone D2 has the swedge, and I never really noticed until now. It is prominent on the back side of each blade, though there is a baby swedge on the nail hook side of each as well. You can see it here.

Yeah, i'm really looking forward to watching the knife blades colour up with use. I'm not gonna force it, just let it age gracefully...

Neil, I found one in my arsenal that looks just like yours. Says on the blades "Queen City", as well as "Cozy Glen Classic Knives". So was/is Cozy Glen a vendor who got a special run of Queen Canoes? On this one, the swedge on the nail clip side of the blades is either very light or non-existent.

I do believe that Cozy Glen is or was Ken Daniels stamp. He used to work for Queen but now is 1 of the co-owners of GEC.

Yep mine is exactly the same. No swedge on the nail nick side.

I believe everthing knowtracks said is correct and Queen made a limited run of Cozy Glens for Ken Daniels in 1095 using 4 or 5 different scale types and made 100 of each. Mine is Strawberry bone.

I'm hoping someone more knowledgable will chime in now with the full story...
