Question about leverlocks

Just wanted to know if the camillus lever lock was technically a switchblade. My friend wants to buy one and I told him no because its a switchblade and having one is a class A misdemeanor around here, but he said "only if its open with a button" and I didnt know how to respond. I dont know about this stuff, so I came here for clarification.
