Question about the RAM

I've got a couple of RAM's, one of recent vintage, one of older vintage -- July '06, according to the blade. I thought I had read somewhere that the RAM was 13C26, but the recent listings have it as 14C28N. Actually, on one site, it lists both steels under different configurations of the RAM. I'm guessing that older RAM's were 13C26, and the newer ones are 14C28N. Was there a specific date that they transitioned over? I'm just wondering if my older RAM (which really is NOS that I just bought recently) is 13C26, and the new one is 14C28N. Hmmmm... reading that back, I think I just asked the same question about 3 times...

My 2008 blades are all 14C28n. My 2009 Ram is also 14c28n. I'm not sure when they switched but you may get a feel for when they switched with enough responses.

Ok, so another question... How do you know what the steel is when it isn't the blade.. or box?

Kershaw was not using 13c26 in 2009 to my knowledge. Plus it was clearly labeled on Kershaw Guys website (and I feel like he'd know better than most).
