I seem to remember back in the 80`s or 90`s that Buck made a lightweight plastic handle 112 or 110 with the Boy Scout emblem on them. I think they might have been green. Is that right, or am I having a "senior moment?"

I did a google search and found a listing for a Buck "Scoutlite" # BUBSA412. Looks like a FG 112 with red synthetic scales and BSA markings on the blade with a synthetic pouch/sheath, also with the BSA emblem. The listing indicates a 1986 date of manufacture.

The Scoutlite 412 is red and based on the Bucklite 422. The Cublite 414 is dark blue and based on the smaller 424. Here is a picture of my Scoutlite. "Scoutlite" is molded on the side of the handle. This one has an ordinary 422 blade instead of the 412 BSA etched blade. I always wondered if it was a warranty blade replacement or a buildout. I love the red handles on the Scoutlite.

Except for, as you stated, the lack of blade markings that's identical to the one I found. Did it come with the "holder", don't know whether it's considered a pouch or sheath as the pic I found didn't show if it had a belt loop or not.

Mine came with an ordinary leather 112 sheath but all the ones I've seen in pictures came with a nylon/velcro bucklite type sheath that were specific to the Scoutlite/Cublite and marked.

Find the thread I was feeling a little lite today...

If you search there are some good Scoutlite and Cublite pictures in there. It's an eye opener to all the variations
that were made in the Bucklite series.
