Question on Bill's Custom Cases....

I know some folks here use Bill's Custom Cases for long-term storage of their knives. What is it about these specific cases which makes them more suitable for long-term storage than other padded knife cases? My experience with similar vinyl/leather cases padded with fleece/felt/misc has been fine when used for transporting or short-term storage. However, while spending some time in a humid climate, I noticed that these cases do end up retaining moisture and some can discolor the knives stored within. Is there something special about the padded lining that may make Bill's cases more resistant to accumulating moisture? Thank in advance.

They do not hold moisture as other cases do. The ones with foam are the worst for rusting a blade. I use only Bills cases and believe in them whole heartedly. I use them for both storage and transporting my knives.

I have had some damascus daggers (Manfred Saches) stored in some of these cases for over seven years. Aside from wiping them down every six months or so they have had no maintainance and they are in perfect condition.

They are fully worth the extra cost. And heh, whats a $20 case for a $1500 knife!
