Question on IL law

I looked at the law and it says 3 inches.

Does that mean that anything 3 inches or over is a felony, or cops can add a weapons charge onto something else they have you for if its 3 inches plus?

(The law says that anything used as a weapon, is a weapon...?)

I'm looking at getting a quality folder, and everything I want is between 3-4 inches.

Do what i do. You can carry it just dont flash it around, and nobody will take notice. Just dont try to use it on anybody and you should be fine.

Do what I do:carry what you please,but get a 21/2 or sub two inch and use that openly....and if you should need to defend yourself use the smaller one.
