I have come into some really nice horn. Having no knowledge and very little skill, is there a way to "straighten" the curves in the horn without destroying it? Some of the horn is 1/2 inch thick and the most color contrast of course is on the thinnest part. Any suggestions will be helpful.:)

It can be straightened some by heating it in boiling water and clamping it flat before it cools. Don't push it too far at first, it could crack. Just straighten it a little at a time (1/8")

Thanks for the reply. I have quite a bit so I'll give that a try. No harm in wasting the smaller pieces.:)

You can also try hot Linseed oil. We had a very good thread a while back on how to shape horn for a knife sheath. He used Linseed oil. I've wanted to try it, just haven't had time.
