Hi
I have some questions on handles,I want to round the top of the edge
next to the rib,I don't want to do it all with a grinder once it is gone, you can't bring it back. How do you round it off,do you grind close then do the rest buy hand. Also I want to know about finishing
do you work down to a fine grit then buff or how does it go
I have been praticing some and have rought ground to 400 then put super glue on the handle and buffed with white dimond compound it comes out like glass.I like this look for mirror finish but for satin finish I would like to keep it flat colored like the blade instead of
the high shine finish, how are some of the maker doing it
Thanks for and input.

This is another area where there are a thousand ways to do it but I most always use a slack belt on the grinder and finish with paper.

That is what I thought I just wanted to make sure and this is
a good place to ask.
thanks for the input

Lots of dirrerent ways.
I hold the handle with the top of the tang held lightly againt the flat platen and gently rock it back and forth to rough out the shape.I then go to a knife vise and clamp the blade in with the palm part of the tang up. Start shinning shoes. I start with a med or rough 1 inch strip of emory cloth and do the handle in 1/4s.Just hold 1 end in each hand and below the knife handle and work up and down while moving the emory cloth back and forth along the handle. You can fit to a guard or fit the guard at the same time. Experiment.

Thanks for your post that had crossed my mind, but hearing from some one who has done it already makes it sound a little easer.
thanks again.:)
