I originally posted this over on a review of the CT. Thought I'd bring it over here where some of the SR folks play.

Does anyone know if they will make this knife without the crikle coat. I tend to enjoy a bare blade. The 52100 is a sweet steel and it would be great to own a 7" blade with this. I've slowly grown into the 7" blade cult following. I've found that longer blade, when sheathed, tend to beat the hell out of my knee. The 7" blade tends to handle all chopping chores that are under machete class while still being nimble enough in the hand for small, delicate work.
My dream knife in this line would be a bare steel blade with a natural handle material. Even tan or maroon micarta. I'm just tired of black knives.

OK. Dumbass me. I just saw a pic of a non-coated CT on the LE thread. Now we're cookin'. I just have to figure out something on the handles now. Maybe I'll just get one of those and drop on a stag handle.:D
BTW, What dealers are offering the best prices on them right now?

If the Lord didn't intend for us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat?

AFAIK, the knives are only available direct from the factory. Some will answer officially, I'm sure.

Recondoc,
I'm glad you stopped by the Rat's Nest :D:D

Yes, the CT and BR will be offered on a very limited basis with a satin finish. Currently the Rat's are only available direct from the shop and only online. If you would like to be placed on the list for the CT LE(which isn't officially available or for sale yet ;)) email me at swampratinfo@bellsouth.net

BTW, sorry I missed your initial question regarding this or I would have answered.

Eric and all others who answered here,
Thanks for the information dump. I've gotta count me pennies but I just may have to put one of these babies on order. I'm kinda hurting right now. I just put a Shane Sibert custom on Ebay with no reserve. (Yes it's risky but can attract bidders) This time the gamble really didn't pay off and the knife just sold for a whopping $100. Owch! Damn that hurts. I am however a man of honor and plan on shipping the knife the minute I receive payment. So far, I haven't heard back from the buyer yet so maybe I'll get a second chance on this one.
Enough digression into other topics.
As for missing my original post, it took place about 5 minutes before I found this forum. Don't sweat it.
