I’d like to know if the “TEK-LOCK” system of the Camillus Cuda CQB sheath is suitable for outside waistband carry?
On the Camillus website they state that this system is (among others) intended for this carry method but I want your affirmation about that.

I just got a knife from Bob Doggett with a Tek-Lock, and it works fine for outside waistband carry.

I have a CQB-1. While I use the supplied IWB loop in an appendix carry, I have used the TEK-LOK OWB for it every once in a while.

I have a OWB holster that uses it as well. No probs.

I like it. Easy on. Easy off. Stable. Quiet.

In general, I do not use any sort of attachment, I carry static line, tucked into a pocket or into my waistband.

But, the nice thing about the Tek-Lok is it's uniformity and convenience. I scoffed at it at first, but with more use, I like it.

If even makes a decent toy by itself, opening and snapping it closed.

Hey Horus...

OWB carry with the Tek is about all it's good for..

I'm not trashing the Tek..I think it's a Great system,,probably the biggest thing since the use of synthetics for sheaths..
It has it's drawback though..
For one,,if it ever could be used for IWB carry,,it has to be used on pancake or 2 piece sheaths..

Sheaths such as mine,,fold over pouch design,,forget it...

The large Teks are Ok,,but in my personal opinion,,a little big on the bulky side,,much better suited for large wide blades..Which prsents ot's own problems..

The Mini Tek wins hands down as far as I'm concerned..The best thing since sliced bread...

A properly made G-clip on the right sheath is still my prefered method of carry..It can still be used IWB/OWB all without having to remove anything and gets the job done Very well....

If you order anything get the mini Tek....

I have to agree with Normark, as the "G-clip" is what I use on my Camillus CQB-1 sheaths...Easy on & off, very secure, and low-profile.

Hi Straightup....

A G-clip is provided with all of my Concealment series sheaths...

If you have any questions,, drop me a note Anytime..

I love the mini Tec-Loc! I fitted one to a Fallkniven G1 Garm neck knife and it works great! No mods were required. A neat trick I learned from our own knifewriter supreme, Dexter, is to install it upside down from the way the drawings show. That is with the release arms on top. It makes it super easy to slide on and off. I agree that the mini is probably sufficient for any knife under 20 oz. or so. The only drawback to the mini compared to the biggie is that there is no belt width adjustment. This makes it impractal for LBE carry. I always wear a 1.5" wide belt to retain the volumous jelly roll that is my belly, so it fits perfectly;) I have really started getting into ~4" fixed blades lately and if a Tec-Loc isn't an option, the knife usually doesn't get a second glance.

Change is inevitable. Growth is optional.

Hey David..

I'll have to agree with you on the mini Tek-Lok..
It is a handy dandy little doodad....

As far as this statement goes

"if a Tec-Loc isn't an option, the knife usually doesn't get a second glance."

Man you are Really limiting yourself to a small number of knives..Most knifemakers, and knife manufacturers don't use the Tek-Lok too much..

Why not just buy a healty supply of Teks and do the mods to the sheaths as you need them ??

I have them on a few of my knives,,and enjoy them when I'm wearing a certain blade,,but when I conceal, they are a pain and next to useless...I still prefer a closed sturdy belt loop over a Tek...Not to say a Tek isn't sturdy...

A G-clip, Static line or a webbing loop is my prefered method as far as concealement goes...
