so, i knew it was gonna happen the day i ordered my R.A.M. but the little beauty arrived this past wednesday and since then i have done nothing but flip the little bugger. left hand., right hand, pinkie (both sides), wrist flicks open and close it didn't matter, this thing has not left my hand (well almost). for nearly 5 days now. and it happened......

i have repetitive stress injury caused by too much 1910 fun. the index finger injury is a carry over from my little ENER-G. when i got that i would open and close it unconsciously until my fingers bled. but the 1910, being easier to flip has spared my blood and just gone for the severe bruise. and my thumb, combined with too much drum practice without prep, and closing the 1910 on the G10 scale has a nice precursor to a blister which with ice i am hoping will not mature.

so. i have not hurt myself with the business end of the knife yet..... but i must be the only person who hurts themselves from the non-sharp parts of their beloved kershaws......

Or am I?

lol.....i try and open up to you guys and i get nothing nice for my pain.....oh well at least i don't cut fingers off like dann :)

OK , Mike , apologize, that was not nice, LOOSER !!!

Nah, no sympathy from me. As for Dann....geebus, he needs special cutting gloves. :D

One time I was taking items out of my pants pockets...ie..wallet, coins, knives
and dropped my JYDII on my bare foot.
Yeah, my foot hurt a little, but I saved the knife from any damage.

good man, body parts are replaceable, but knives are not......wait.....thats not right....

Friday, and as many have said it is a great fit for the hand. The choil is nice and big, it doesn't need to be that big but I will take it. Not too heavy not too light, sturdy feeling.

The best part of this knife is the lock and it's deployment, I have never had a flipper so easy to use. Just a light flick and it snaps to lock.
The blade design is cool, just different enough to get attention but not wild.
The hollow ground blade cuts well (ground to a .020") I don't always like hollow ground but this one is fine.

The last point is not a bigie, but gives me a problem. Unlocking it is hard for me. I have arthtitus in my hands and the pulling down of that small, low-profile slide is dificult. If the slide were raised a bit, that would help. (I may try to machine one out of metal if I can). Again, this is an issue just for me and does not present a problem for most. I LIKE THIS KNIFE!

The custom from the hawks is raised more.... I think earlier prototypes might have had something closer to the original but it changed in the end. Regardless of whether it's an issue for you, i think the raised version is simpler. Might have just been a compromise for Kershaw

also, i have actually found it easier to close left handed as my middle finger rests in perfect position to push the lock and the index can close it easily. not that im left handed but its nice to have an easily ambidextrous knife

might this be the most fun Kershaw to manipulate since....well all Kershaws!?!

I'm glad your knife is givin' some lovin' back at yah!

Wadda mean???...I still have all 8 of my fingers...A few of 'em might be alittle "worse for wear", but they are all still there.:D.:D.

!

it's pretty smooth. A little too smooth for such a full blade to handle size. If you get too quick it can tick the heal of your hand on closing.

sounds strange, but if the blade were just a tad shorter, of if the knife just had a little bigger butt...:D

thats not true. just take them to the kershaw doc. A.K.A. kershaw CS....they can fix anything :)
But that isn't self-healing, that is more like taking it to a knife doctor which is cheating. If you had to send your finger off every time you cut it, you would be much more careful next time wouldn't you?
