hey guys, New guy here thought I'd introduce myself with a little anecdote from a couple weeks ago which was the first time I had taken my pretty new Rat 3 camping.
It was out at El Capitan beach and we were all huddle around the campfire.
Now this was a Boy scout trip so i've got all these scouts running around and some of the other adult leaders are around the fire as well.
One of the other adult leaders was cooking some steak and sides up on grill that flips over the fire ring, little did he or I know there were four pins that held the grill up, except one of the pins was missing.
I had fireproof gloves on because I was being the fire martial (person in charge of fire safety, putting more wood on, etc) and I was just sitting there watching him flip the steaks from time to time. Trusty Rat3 on the front of my belt.
Suddenly, he flips a steak and the whole grill tilts and drops everything in the fire, i mean, steaks, bread, potatoes, everything! without hesitation I grabbed my Rat and dove in, (mind you it wasn't a roaring fire and I wasn't doing anything necessarily dangerous) I scooped out at least 4 or 5 of the 6 steaks in moments. They were very grateful and I was pretty lucky to have had my knife ready.
Anyways, thought ya'll might enjoy that story.
