Went home for lunch today, and had a package waiting from RAT :D
Thanks again Jeff and Mike for doing the giveaway on these, and to Shon for making yet another rocking knife! This thing is stout , but feels great in hand and is light too. Some quick pics

so being bare are you going to paint it or blue it with a gun blueing kit to help protect the metal... Great score bro !!!!
 
It has sort of a gunmetal finish on it already, seems like it will keep rust away pretty good. I never really have a problem with rust though, I just wipe my blades off before putting them away.
 
The edge and spine are bare metal. But the rest is sort of blue/gray, maybe that's how they look after heat treat? I'm not sure, but it sure looks cool!
 
The frist two pics are blurry because I was only holding the camera with one hand. But the last pic with the RC4 is a better representation of how it looks.

Also, I generally don't like skeletonized knives, but this one really feels great in hand. The edges are all smoothed out and the contours of the handle fit the hand perfectly.
 
my rc-4 arrived today from derrick at knivesshipfree.com ..........this thing is great just in time for the memorial day camping trip....gotta put it through its paces
 
the blade sure is shiney, I was going to polish the blade on the one I won and then use gun black on it but may not want to now.
 
It's actually not shiny at all, it just sort of looks that way in the pic. The streak on the blade is actually blue and the rest is a gunmetal gray color.
