Even though it started sleeting on me while I was taking these pictures, I started getting my outdoors bag ready for fishing. I'm a southpaw, so I rig my fixed blades on the back of this British Military surplus haversack, so they ride between me and the bag "Nessmuk" style.

I really like the sheath on the RC-4, it provides a great way to lash the sheath to a pack. I use 1 long piece of paracord, to attach to the equipment tabs that were already on the pack. Threading through the holes on the sheath and crossing under the belt attachment, then through grommets I installed, were the cord stop that the RC-4 came with, holds the cord inside the pack.

It provides a very secure attachment to the sheath, but by removing the cord stop, allows the sheath to be removed in seconds.

As i was setting this up, I also realized that it gave me an extra level of security if I felt i needed it, but just sliding the lanyard knot under the paracord on the sheath, it locks the knife into the sheath!

Backed up by a SAK in the small black sheath on the side with tools for fishing, we are good to go!

Nice rig. Thinking out of the box there...I like that.

I believe this guy can understand a sheath system.:) It also is great to see that our ideas for what to put on a sheath system, like the piece of paracord and cord lock, are well received by the users.:) We should see if we can add a photo page for sheath systems users to this forum as a sticky. Stuff like this is valuable for others to look at and understand a sheath system and how versatile it can be. Thanks again Confederate! Mike

I love the paracord cord lock,I purchased several extra's and I think it is a great asset if you use para cord,I was surprised to see it with my RC4.Great 1st. class touch guys !

We had a bitch of a time finding a cord lock that would actually lock. The one's were shipping on the RC-4 (and have also started shipping on the RC-3) lockup pretty good.

Yeah I have a couple of cord lock that have two holes in them and they suck, very light tension and they give way ,I like the kind that came with the RC4,I picked up several of those for my paracord needs, holding firesteels etc.

I found both kinds last year at a local fabric store, your right, the 2 hole kind do NOT hold worth a crap, especially with paracord. :thumbdn:

The little spring in those locks is stainless so it should hold up pretty good. They also have a little ridge on the moving piston that pinches the cord and that with the strong spring is what makes it lock pretty good.
