Even though it started sleeting on me while I was taking these pictures, I started getting my outdoors bag ready for fishing. I'm a southpaw, so I rig my fixed blades on the back of this British Military surplus haversack, so they ride between me and the bag "Nessmuk" style.
I really like the sheath on the RC-4, it provides a great way to lash the sheath to a pack. I use 1 long piece of paracord, to attach to the equipment tabs that were already on the pack. Threading through the holes on the sheath and crossing under the belt attachment, then through grommets I installed, were the cord stop that the RC-4 came with, holds the cord inside the pack.
It provides a very secure attachment to the sheath, but by removing the cord stop, allows the sheath to be removed in seconds.
As i was setting this up, I also realized that it gave me an extra level of security if I felt i needed it, but just sliding the lanyard knot under the paracord on the sheath, it locks the knife into the sheath!
Backed up by a SAK in the small black sheath on the side with tools for fishing, we are good to go!
