First try with photos folks, forgive my ignorance if this goes wrong.

Got some pics of my mod to my Izula. Stripped and gave it a nice Patina. Yes I know some of you think it is heretical to strip one but I plan on a second that I will leave original. Hope you like!

I'm not sure how you post pictures inline with a thread, but your Izula is awesome looking! I like the patina that you've got going on. How did you get it like that?

Stripped with paint stripper. I evidentially got the wrong kind because 48 hr soak still required 2 hrs of scraping. She did not want to give up her coating!

I sanded with 2000 grit wet/dry paper.

coated it with plain yellow mustard and wrapped in paper towel (PT) to give it some texture, unwrapped and hung by hole for about 1 hr.

cleaned knife with soap and water and soaked a paper towel in red wine vinegar wrapped the knife in the PT for about an hour.

cleaned and reapplied the mustard from original PT by then it was partially dry which gave it that blotchy patina let it hang for about another hour.

cleaned and coated the blade with potato juice, heard it would yield a bluish patina but I really noticed no change.

cleaned, oiled , stroped , and wrapped.

sorry no pics of the process, but I have seen some good ones in here.

I really dig that patina on the Izula. I hope I'll be able to do as good a job on mine when the day comes. Very nice job.

Awesome patina. Really makes the izula look like a bare essentials blade. Thanks for posting the pics. of the three knives on edge. It really illustrates the handle thickness diff. between the three.

Good job indeed.
Izula's are just asking for a personal touch.
What you did is very tempting.
