Hi , this is my first attempt at this so please forgive any errors. I have been trying to decide beetween a fallkniven f1 and a rat rc4 for general camp and outdoor use. After reading this forum I have been very impressed by the guys from Rat . Their attitude towards customers is fantastic , so i am leaning towards the rc4.I have one question does the dessert tan have the same handle thickness as the black blade as it doesn't have spacers ?Thanks for any help ,this is agreat forum keep up the good work

You won't go wrong with either. I really like the VG-10 in the Fallkniven though. If we could get VG-10 here in the States then we would be building a line out of it for sure. Fallkniven are damn good knives, IMO. I've used them a lot.

Our handles are the same thickness between the lined handles and the non-lined handles since they both have to fit the same sheath.

Thanks for the reply and your honesty. how many other manufacturers would heap such praise on another product ! I doubt any other company would offer the same customer service and back up as you guys though. I don't think I've ever seen more loyal customers than you have so you must be doing a lot of things right !Now which color do I want?????Again many thanks for your help.

Depends.
For Bushcraft -- OD/Orange works great (If you don't know why, think of dropping in foliage and seeign the orange handle).
For Tacticool -- black
For fitting-in in the desert, tan/green

Thanks for the welcome texastonydobbs.Your suggestions make sense Cpl punishment, thanks for the imput. You guys sure seem to like those rat knives. My only real concern with the rc4 is that I'll be using the knife on kayak trips , mainly around the camp sites but still near salt water which is why I was considering the fallkniven f1. But that rc4 seems like one hell of a knife.

Gotta go with orange...your knife is useless if you can't find it!

Check out how nice this stands out.

Not trying to hijack here, but I have only heard of RAT cutlery a few times before getting on the this forum. I browsed for months before signing up and thought they looked like fine knives so naturally, I read most of the posts in the subforum to see pictures, get a better idea of user feedback etc. I know both companies make very good products, however, the guys from RAT just seem to honestly care about the customer and you really can't beat the warranty. I say go for the Rc-4. That's my next knife!
