Check this out Fellas. The newest version of the Bear Grylls knife offered from Bayley knives, is using the RC serrations. I have not seen theses serrations on any other makers product. A true inovation by the RC team that has been recognized as superior, and now being imitated. Imitation is the highest form of flatery.

I like the design but $500 is a bit much. I'll take 5 RC blades instead. :D

Damn, Bear's gonna look good with that knife strapped to his side in whatever hotel he's surviving in.

No offense intended to you, Cody, but frankly, I could not care any less about what some charlatan is marketing, and I'd be ashamed to be seen with anything with his name on it, even if it was 50 cents.

Not sure, but I think there were some makers using this style of serration before us. Also, this is not a RAT Cutlery design , it was a Shon Rowen design...just so we give credit where credit is due ;)

Oh don't be so harsh on the ol' brit :P

I guess for the new season he will not be staying in hotels and they'll actually show his crew sometimes. I enjoy the show.

Remenber Fellas, he is just talent. He does what they ask him to do. He doesn't write or produce the show. He doesn't make the knives or design them. It's an endorsement like many athletes take. As a person Bear is very cool. I got to meet him a couple years back when he did a talk about his Everest expedition at IBM. Very good talk, and very modivational. He is doing a great job promoting himself and creating the life he wants to have. :D

Did you guys stay at the same hotel? ;)

You're right. It's all entertainment. And as long as no one is lying about what they are doing....hmm...oh well.

I think RC should support B.G.'s career by sending him a set (yes, four) Izulas. I would be interested to see if he would pick black, tan, OD or pink to use on his show. Better yet, plan a trip to SA with Bear as a celeb student. I think it would make for a very interesting report. I've always thought his skills and knowledge were less than his fan club would like to believe, but much more than his detractors would like to believe. And certainly more than what his script writers allow him to show.

Boy, his name is plastered all over that thing. Does the other side say "brought to you by the discovery channel, KFC, McDonalds, Taco Bell"?

Jeez.

I do like that sheath design, and the look of the knife. Just aint payin that price. Ever. I like too many waay cheaper knives alot better.

As for his show, Eh. It still beats American Idol. Hes a tool, but an entertaining tool. An probably a helluva nice guy.

Oh, well, if Bear is going to use his fame to give exposure to something legitimate, I'm all for that.

I don't hero worship, but I don't demonize either. Bear is as good a guy as any tv personality, and has done more charity work than most. All people seem to be able to talk about is a hotel he stayed in while filming a TV show. TV is entertainment, and in a free market it comes in many versions. People need to remember this and not take everything so seriously. On the show he is talent not a writer or producer. He is a crazy brit doing stunts in the wilderness. Plenty entertaining to watch. Here is a link to his latest off TV project. www.journeyantarctica2008.com In addition to Everest he has also climbed Ama Dablan, another Himalayan giant. In case some don't know, that is not easy. :D Just because you can doesn't mean you have to.
